Dirty Rice with Ground Beef Recipe
Ingredients:
1 pound ground beef
1 cup long-grain white rice
2 cups beef broth
1 small onion, finely chopped
1 green bell pepper, diced
2 celery stalks, diced
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 teaspoon smoked paprika
1 teaspoon Cajun seasoning
½ teaspoon dried thyme
½ teaspoon black pepper
¼ teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional for extra heat)
2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
2 tablespoons olive oil
2 green onions, sliced (for garnish)
Directions:
Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spoon. Drain excess fat if needed.
Add the remaining tablespoon of olive oil, then stir in the onion, bell pepper, and celery. Sauté for 3-4 minutes until the vegetables are softened.
Stir in the minced garlic, smoked paprika, Cajun seasoning, thyme, black pepper, and cayenne (if using). Cook for another 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
Add the rice to the skillet and stir to coat it with the spices.
Pour in the beef broth and Worcestershire sauce, then bring to a simmer.
Reduce heat to low, cover, and let cook for 18-20 minutes until the rice is tender and the liquid is absorbed.
Fluff with a fork, garnish with sliced green onions, and serve hot.
